# Anti-Racism Policy

### Purpose

AIC is committed to maintaining a workplace and delivery environment free from racism, racial harassment and race discrimination.

AIC has zero tolerance for racism.

### Policy Statement

Racism, racial harassment, racial stereotyping and race-based exclusion are unacceptable.

This applies to employees, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, customers, partners and anyone representing AIC.

### Scope

This policy applies to conduct connected to:

* recruitment
* employment
* contracting
* supplier engagement
* project delivery
* customer sites
* online communication
* meetings
* work-related events

### Unacceptable Behaviour

Unacceptable behaviour includes:

* racist language
* racial slurs
* racial jokes
* racial stereotyping
* exclusion based on race, ethnicity or nationality
* mocking accents or names
* hostility linked to nationality or ethnicity
* assumptions about capability based on race or background
* offensive images or materials
* retaliation after racism is reported

### Nationality and Accent

AIC recognises that unfair treatment may also occur through assumptions about nationality, accent, language, migration background or cultural background.

Such behaviour is not acceptable.

### Recruitment and Progression

AIC will seek to ensure that recruitment and progression decisions are based on role-relevant criteria.

Race, ethnicity, nationality, colour, accent or cultural background must not be used as a barrier to opportunity.

### Reporting

Concerns may be raised with a manager, delivery lead, commercial lead or company director.

Reports of racism will be treated seriously.

### Action

Where racism is found, AIC may take action including:

* formal warning
* removal from a project
* supplier escalation
* access suspension
* disciplinary action
* contract termination
* referral to authorities where required

### No Retaliation

AIC does not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern about racism or supports someone else in doing so.
